YFN Lucci is the sound of Atlanta persistence. Born Rayshawn Lamar Bennett in 1991, the singer-rapper signed with Think It’s A Game Entertainment and pushed the Wish Me Well series to a breakthrough with its second volume—an album that landed on the Billboard 200 and yielded “Key to the Streets,” his first Hot 100 single, alongside Migos and Trouble. The schedule tightened quickly: his Long Live Nut EP arrived in 2017 carrying “Everyday We Lit,” a PnB Rock collaboration that remains his highest-charting song, peaking at number 33. It set the table for Ray Ray from Summerhill, his 2018 debut album, which reached number 14 on the Billboard 200.
That momentum broke in May 2021, when Lucci was arrested after a statewide manhunt and charged with eleven others in a RICO indictment. By January 2024 he had pleaded guilty to a single count of violating Georgia’s Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act, a plea that carried a ten-year prison sentence and ten years of probation, with credit for time served. He was released on January 31, 2025. Having kept a steady release flow through the mixtape circuit—including the HIStory and 650Luc projects and Wish Me Well 3—Lucci now returns with a catalog that documents his run and an audience waiting to hear what the next chapter sounds like.
