Yelawolf: biography, discography and legacy in the Genzeta Clips archive.

Michael Wayne Atha, better known as Yelawolf, carved his path in the rap scene starting in 2005 from Gadsden, Alabama. After building a strong local following with a series of mixtapes, his 2010 release, Trunk Muzik, proved to be a pivotal moment, garnering significant wider recognition. This success quickly led to a recording contract with Interscope Records, where he re-worked the acclaimed mixtape into his major label debut, Trunk Muzik 0-60, solidifying his presence in the industry.

Yelawolf’s career ascended further through a joint venture with Eminem’s Shady Records, culminating in his second studio album, Radioactive (2011), which landed at number 27 on the Billboard 200. His momentum continued with Love Story (2015), a critical and commercial high point that soared to number three on the charts and featured the platinum-certified single “Till It’s Gone.” Subsequent albums like Trial by Fire (2017) and Trunk Muzik 3 (2019) maintained a balance of critical praise and moderate commercial performance. Following his departure from major labels, Yelawolf embraced independence with Ghetto Cowboy (2019), continuing to deliver his distinctive sound.
