Since emerging from the Philadelphia underground, Evan McDonald—who records under the lowercase-styled Slayr—has mapped a rapidly unfolding lane that refuses to sit still. A rapper, singer, and producer in his own right, Slayr is not content with a single signature. His output swings between noise-abraded chaos and fragile, melodic introspection.
