Ryan Castro: biography, discography and legacy in the Genzeta Clips archive.

Ryan Castro emerged from Medellín with a voice that cuts straight through the noise of contemporary urban music. As a Colombian rapper, singer, and songwriter, he first snapped international attention with tracks like “Quema,” “Jordan,” “Mujeriego,” and “Monastery,” each one carrying the kind of infectious hook and street-level attitude that crosses borders without losing its local character. His music feels both immediate and lived-in, shaped equally by the cadence of the ghetto and the polish of a studio craftsman.

Castro’s discography, however, tells a deeper story than hit singles alone. With Los Piratas (2022) and Reggaetonea (2022), he laid out a yin-and-yang identity: one project loose and playful, the other steeped in the pulse of the dancehall. The follow-up EL CANTANTE DEL GHETTO (2024) shifted toward self-mythology, a clear-sighted embrace of his lane. By 2025, the paired releases HOPI SENDÉ and SENDÉ showed an artist testing out dualities, while OMERTA (2026) suggests a turn toward quieter, weightier codes. Through it all, Ryan Castro keeps his feet planted in Medellín even as the world listens closer. He’s restless, prolific, and impossible to pin down to one single that defines him.
