Little Stranger

American alternative hip hop duo Little Stranger came together in 2015 from an unusual alignment: Kevin and John Shields, unrelated but sharing a surname, were both born in Philadelphia before helping to seed the project in Charleston, South Carolina. That geographic duality—Northern roots, Southern formation—often surfaces in their music as a sense of restlessness and reinvention, although the pair themselves keep their focus squarely on interplay: tight, conversational verses and live-wire energy.

The early full-lengths Techniques (2017) and Styles & Dynamics (2018) established a working signature built on rhythmic flexibility and quick-witted exchanges. With Trip Around Saturn (2021), they expanded their palette into more textured, expansive territory, while Sat Around Trippin (2024) reads as both a mirror and a progression, reshuffling themes with renewed confidence.
