Lil Skies: biography, discography and legacy in the Genzeta Clips archive.

Lil Skies, born Kimetrius Christopher Foose on August 4, 1998, is an American rapper and singer from Pennsylvania whose melodic, guitar-laced approach helped define a certain strain of late-2010s rap. He signed with Atlantic Records in 2017, and the singles that followed arrived fast: “I,” “Nowadays” and “Red Roses” all charted on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at numbers 39, 55 and 69 respectively. That run turned a regional name into a national one almost overnight.

The project that sealed it was Life of a Dark Rose, his major label debut mixtape, which climbed to number ten on the Billboard 200 and earned platinum certification from the RIAA. He followed it with the studio album Shelby in 2019, which peaked at number five, and Unbothered in 2021, which reached number 50. Rather than chase the same formula, he has kept releasing on his own clock, returning with the mixtape Out Ur Body Music in March 2024 and the album The Evolution of the Rose in June 2025, with LS4* announced for 2026. It is a catalogue built on hooks, mood and consistency rather than spectacle.
