Barrington DeVaughn Hendricks, professionally known as JPEGMafia, is an American rapper, singer, and producer who was born in Flatbush, Brooklyn, on October 22, 1989. His debut album, Black Ben Carson (2016), was released independently, but it was the follow-up, Veteran (2018), that drew widespread critical acclaim and made him difficult to ignore. Across those early records, JPEGMafia established himself as a writer, vocalist, and beatmaker whose all-caps moniker signals something unmistakably his own.

The wider commercial breakthrough came with his third album, All My Heroes Are Cornballs (2019), his first to enter the Billboard 200. The momentum carried through Republic’s release of the fourth album, LP! (2021), two years after he had signed for it. Around that spine, JPEGMafia kept the catalogue crowded and restless: the short-form detours of 1539 N. Calvert (2018), EP! (2020), EP2! (2021), the OFFLINE! statement of 2023, and the SCARING THE HOES: DLC PACK drop that same year. In 2023, he issued the collaborative album Scaring the Hoes through AWAL; in 2024 came the fifth full-length, I Lay Down My Life for You. On May 21, 2026, he added his sixth studio album, Experimental Rap — a title that begins to describe the project without containing it.
