Isaiah Rashad
Isaiah Rashad: biography, discography and legacy in the Genzeta Clips archive.
Isaiah Rashad first gained recognition with his performances on the 2012 Smoker’s Club Tour, alongside Juicy J, Joey Badass, and Smoke DZA. A founding member of the Chattanooga, Tennessee collective TheHouse, he signed to Top Dawg Entertainment and released Cilvia Demo in 2014. The EP brought widespread acclaim, marked his first entry on the Billboard 200, and placed him in XXL’s 2014 Freshman Class. Across his work, he operates in a rapping-singing hybrid, moving between warm, low-key melodies and introspective verses that feel lived-in rather than performed.
His debut studio album, The Sun’s Tirade, deepened that approach and continued his chart run. The House Is Burning followed as his major-label debut with Warner Bros. Records—a second album that arrived after years of delays. Then came another long silence before It’s Been Awful was released in May 2026 to critical acclaim. Rashad’s ties to Chattanooga and the collective he helped build remain central to his identity. He seems uninterested in forcing the moment, and the music breathes accordingly.
