Ho99o9

Ho99o9 (pronounced Horror) came together in Newark in 2012, when theOGM and Yeti Bones found a shared wavelength somewhere between hardcore punk and rap. Their sound never sits still: it pulls industrial noise, punk aggression, and hip-hop cadence into a raw, confrontational hybrid. The duo relocated to Los Angeles in 2014, and that same year were named one of Rolling Stone’s “10 New Artists You Need to Know,” with The Guardian also spotlighting them as New Band of the Week. Early festival performances at Afropunk, SXSW, and Primavera Sound reinforced the reputation they were building with a run of EPs and grindhouse-style visual work.

Their full-length output has remained deliberately restless. United States of Horror (2017) weaponised dystopian imagery, while SKIN (2022) tightened the screws sonically and thematically. With Tomorrow We Escape (2025), Ho99o9 continue to soundtrack pressure and release, pairing dense, punk-informed production with sharply delivered vocal threats. More than twenty years into a project that began with two members, they still operate outside easy genre categories.
