Don Omar

Born William Omar Landrón Rivera in Santurce, San Juan, Don Omar has been dubbed the “King of Reggaeton” by critics and fans alike. Billboard and Rolling Stone have recognized him as one of the genre’s legends, and he is widely credited with bringing reggaeton to audiences around the world.

His debut studio album, The Last Don (2003), marked an unmistakable arrival, selling 411,000 units in the United States and earning gold certification from the RIAA. That early dominance expanded into a wide-ranging discography — King of Kings, iDon, the Meet the Orphans series, The Last Don II — with recognitions including Latin Grammy Awards, Billboard Latin Music Awards, and Lo Nuestro Awards. Around 70 million records sold place him among the best-selling Latin music artists of the twenty-first century.

In September 2017, Don Omar announced his retirement and planned a series of farewell concerts at the José Miguel Agrelot Coliseum in Puerto Rico. That farewell proved short-lived: in April 2019, he returned with “Ramayama,” a single featuring Farruko. In a parallel career as an actor, he has portrayed Rico Santos in four Fast & Furious films.
