A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie: biography, discography and legacy in the Genzeta Clips archive.

Artist Julius Dubose, born December 6, 1995, records as A Boogie wit da Hoodie, or simply A Boogie. The Bronx-bred American rapper’s name comes from “Ace Boogie” in the 2002 film Paid in Full and his frequent hoodies. He signed with Atlantic Records and released his debut studio album, The Bigger Artist, in 2017. Led by the Billboard Hot 100-top 20 single “Drowning” featuring Kodak Black, it peaked at number four on the Billboard 200 and drew critical praise.

His second album, Hoodie SZN (2018), topped the Billboard 200. Artist 2.0 (2020) peaked at number two and was supported by the top 20 singles “Look Back at It” and “Numbers” featuring Roddy Ricch, Gunna and London on da Track. At the 2018 BET Awards, he was nominated for Best New Artist. Me vs. Myself (2022) reached number six and received positive reviews, while his fifth album, Better Off Alone, earned continued praise despite commercial failure. In 2024, he starred in the documentary The Rise of Artist Dubose on Facebook Watch.
